Luitpold Animal Health—a division of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals Inc., and manufactures of Adequan IM, Adequan IA and Adequan Canine—announced a revised target date of late August for the re-release of Adequan products to the market. The previous estimated release date was the first quarter of 2014.

Luitpold Animal Health, manufacturers of Adequan IM, Adequan IA and Adequan Canine, announced June 27 that the company expects to release Adequan products for sale in the first quarter of 2014—pending a successful U.S. Food and Drug Administration inspection. The company previously stated the products would be released again in July and August.

Due to renovations at Luitpold Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s Shirley, N.Y., factory, supplies of Adequan IM, the only polysulfated glycosaminoglycan approved by the Food and Drug Administration and a common joint supplement for sport horses, are expected to be limited over the coming months.
