New York City—Sept. 24

It’s safe to say that no one who was seated at the Wollman Rink for the Rolex Central Park Horse Show CDI*** Grand Prix freestyle will soon forget this night. There was a historic win by Ireland’s Judy Reynolds on Vancouver, and then there was Olympic gold medalist Valegro. He wasn’t competing here, but his dressage freestyle demonstration with Charlotte Dujardin brought the sold-out crowd to first absolute silence, and then to tears.

In some hunter classes, riders might fret over a spooky panel or extra greenery around a particular fence. In the $50,000 Duchossois Cup, riders have fences modeled after the five New York City boroughs, brightly colored and beautifully decorated, and then plenty of atmosphere to contend with too. But according to class winner Kelley Farmer, who piloted Nine Moore’s Kodachrome to an overall score of 176 after two hunter classic rounds, the horses didn’t mind a bit.

Join us at 6:30 PM ET for the exciting $75,000 U.S. Open Grand Prix Freestyle CDI4*, streaming live from the Rolex Central Park Horse Show! Individual Olympic gold medalist Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro will also perform an exhibtion ride -- not to be missed!
