Doug Payne was looking for the perfect prep event before heading overseas to the Saumur CCI*** in May, and that’s just what he got at Jersey Fresh, leading the CIC*** from start to finish on Crown Talisman.
Phillip Dutton came to this year’s Jersey Fresh CCI*** with Fernhill Fugitive with something to prove.
Three years ago, Canada’s David Ziegler wouldn’t have believed competing in a CIC** at the Jersey Fresh International Horse Trials (N.J.) would be in his cards, especially not on a four-star veteran like Critical Decision.

May 12 - Allentown, N.J.

Not only did Jessica Phoenix’s husband, Joel, surprise her by coming to watch her compete at the Jersey Fresh Three-Day Event with their son, Jacob, but she also won the CCI*** competition on Exponential, making for a very special Mother’s Day.

Going into show jumping, they were second behind Buck Davidson and D.A. Adirmo, and when Jessica took down a rail, she doubted she'd end up in the winner’s circle.

However, Davidson had two rails on the relatively green gelding, giving Jessica the win.

Until today, Buck Davidson wasn’t sure what kind of horse he had in D.A. Adirmo. The gelding had shown talent for the upper levels, winning his first advanced in February, but after a stop at The Fork CIC*** (N.C.), Davidson dropped him back down to intermediate in his last event.
