International eventer Giltedge died at Jacqueline Mars’ Stone Hall Farm in The Plains, Va., on Sept. 3. He was 29.
Mars purchased Giltedge from Eric Smiley in 1994 after Irish horse dealer William Micklem asked David O’Connor to try the Irish Sport Horse gelding (Glen Bar— Kitty, Awkward Brief), then called Giltex.
Legendary horseman and show manager Gene Mische died on Friday, Dec. 3, after a long battle with cancer.
Leslie Morse’s Grand Prix dressage stallion, Kingston (Voltaire—Gisnette, Burgraaf), died on Oct. 11 at Kings Court, Morse’s training facility located in Hidden Hills, Calif. Kingston had an acute colic episode when the temperature changed drastically, and he died on the farm after he was unable to get on the trailer for transport to a veterinary hospital.
