We’re three days into this two-week competition now, and, as you’ve probably heard, things aren’t going perfectly. There’s been no live streaming. It’s been warm, and there’s no shade for the spectators. There aren’t many food options at the Caledon venue. But, despite the annoyances (and no video is a big one for those of you at home!), I already have plenty of highlights from the Pan American Games in Toronto.

Though the U.S. took home the team gold medal as well as individual silver and bronze, not all of the competitors in the 1975 Pan American Games dressage had such smooth sailing. Here's the Chronicle's report on that year's competition. One of the notable details is that it was the international debut of Keen, the famous Thoroughbred who went on to represent the United States in the 1976 and 1984 Olympic Games.

The United States Equestrian Federation has named the team and traveling reserve for the U.S. Pan American Jumping Team for the 2015 Pan American Games to be held in Caledon, Ontario.

The following athlete-and-horse combinations will compose the U.S. team (in alphabetical order)

•Georgina Bloomberg (New York City) and Gotham Enterprizes LLC’s Lilli, a 2004 Deutsches Sportpferd mare

•Kent Farrington (Wellington, Fla.) and Robin Parksy and his own Gazelle, a 2006 Belgian Warmblood mare
