It’s not often you see 119 entries in a grand prix, but that’s how many showed up on the start list for the $35,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round 2. So, awarded two sets of ribbons in the class, running it as a California split. So, at the end of the class, both Guatemala's Alvaro Tejada on Agroprosa's Voltaral Palo Blanco and Ireland's Daniel Coyle on Ariel and Susan Grange's Cita got to take a victory gallop.

Young Irish rider spent most of last year in the under-25 grand prix division, but at the end of the year he got to take over the reins of the top horses of Ariel and Sue Grange's Lothlorien Farm. And he started 2017 with a big win at the Winter Equestrian Festival (Fla.) in the $75,000 Rosenbaum Mollengarden PLLC Grand Prix aboard a horse he'd only riddon for a week—Cita.
